This is not a shotgun event, but it is a Challenging, fun handgun shooting event at FreeState Gun Range. This event tests a shooters ability to shoot through the centers of sporting clay targets without breaking them. Shooters who shoot through the centers of four clay targets in the fastest time will win the cash. Distance is 7 yards. Shoot any handgun, any caliber, OPEN SIGHTS ONLY!!
Matches begin at 6:30PM and 7:30PM. Buy in is $5.
The objective of the Block Hopper Event is to shoot at a block of wood and use the bullet to move the block from the 10 yard line to the 20 yard line. Shoot any 22 rimfire handgun, any sight. $5 dollar buy-in. The shooter who moves the block over the 20 yard line the fastest wins the cash.
The first match will be held at 6:30 PM and the second will start at 7:30 PM.
This is the Ball Buster Event. Four ping pong balls are hung at 25 yards. Shooters get ten rounds max, one minute max per shot. Whoever pops all the balls in the fewest shots gets a piece of the pot. $5 buy-in. Shoot any safe rifle up to 223, any sight. Shooters shoot from unsupported standing position.
Sign-up starts at 5PM for the first shoot to begin at 6:30 PM. Second shoot at 7:30 PM. Come test your nerves and your skills.
The upcoming shooting event at FreeState Gun Range will be the Seven Card Stud Poker Shoot at 6:30 PM and 7:30PM. Each Shooter shoots 7 shots into a target with 52 cards "face up" on the target and hits (draws) seven cards to make their hand. The shooter can play a maximum of five cards as determined by the ones with bullet holes. In order to be counted as a hit on the card, the bullet hole must be completely inside the boundary line of the card as judged by Dr. Bob.
This is a two person team event. A 2" by 2" by 12" piece of wood is hung from the target retriever. Shooters can load six and have two six round backup mags/clips /speedloaders. Shooting distance is five yards. The team shoots until the wood is split in two or they run out of ammo. The fastest log splitters get the cash. $5 Buy-in.
This is a Super Soaking Fun shooting event at FreeState Gun Range. This is an individual event. Four soda cans filled with water are hung from the trolley. Hitting the wood can carrier will disqualify the shooter. Shooters must pierce each can to score. Shooter can load six and have one six round backup mag/clip/speedloader. To start the event, shooters will launch the trolley from 4 yards and shoot until they penetrate all the cans, run out of ammo or the trolley stops at the 25 yard mark. $5 Buy-in. The fastest super soakers splits the cash.
A shooting event from FreeState Gun Range at 6:30PM and 7:30PM. Shooters attempt to break six balloons in the fewest shots. The balloons are arranged in three pairs; the balloons in each pair are touching. Therefore, it is possible to shoot and break two balloons in one shot making the lowest possible score to be three shots. Each shooter kicks $5 into the pot. Best score splits the pot. Shoot any handgun, any sight, any caliber.
